With more than ten years of public accounting experience, Chris enjoys working with business owners and proprietors to help maintain and grow their businesses. Chris is also a strategic partner to individuals on their personal tax strategies.
Chris’s interest in accounting started in college, where he tutored other accounting students. That experience has helped Chris turn complex tax theories into simple explanations, which his clients appreciate. Chris’s friendly demeanor makes it easy to see why he views his relationship with his clients as a partnership. “When I get a new client, one of the first things I like to do is review their previous returns. It is a great way to get to know them, and I challenge myself to find credits they may have missed.”
Having passed the AICPA’s Accredited in Business Valuation Exam, Chris is working toward completing the final steps to certification.
Some recent examples of how Chris has helped his clients include:
- Uncovered Gross Receipts Licensing issues for clients which helped them to save more than $300,000
- Assisted with the settlement of a large estate by performing a business valuation for his client by recommending a hard close on their S-Corporation. This resulted in saving more than $80,000
- Recommended and assisted a client with a business sale prior to pending tax law changes. Without providing a proactive approach, the result would have left the client with an additional $300,000 tax burden
Chris grew up in Delaware and now lives in Wilmington with his wife and two sons. He enjoys spending time with his family, and organizes a frequent game night with friends.
