As a supervisor in the firm’s assurance practice, John is focused on audits, reviews and compilation engagements in a variety of industries including privately-held companies, governments, not-for-profits and private schools.
A problem solver, John enjoys the diverse range of projects his clients present. He views accounting as much more than just plugging numbers into a spreadsheet, and is genuinely invested in working with clients to complete an engagement in a timely and unobtrusive manner. His recent accomplishments include:
- Developed a large corporation’s tax basis fixed asset system. Identified assets eligible for accelerated and bonus depreciation that they had not been taking advantage of. This has allowed for millions in tax savings sooner than they would have otherwise recognized.
- Co-authored a client’s internal control procedures manual to help them prepare for their first audit. He met with associates throughout the business (sales, procurement, inventory, accounts payable) to gain an understanding of their processes as they relate to internal controls and GAAP financial reporting. He identified internal controls already in place that could be relied upon as well as potential weakness to be shored up in advance of the audit.
John does not differentiate when it comes to a favorite client, but enjoys working with clients who are passionate about their business. “I am fortunate to have strong working relationships with all of my clients.”
An avid Red Sox fan, John makes annual trips to Boston to take in a game.
