Lindsay first joined the firm as an intern in 2004; she is now a manager in our Accounting and Auditing department. Lindsay primarily focuses on the audit and review of construction and real estate entities, employee benefit plans and nonprofit organizations. Lindsay prides herself on being available to clients throughout the year. She is thorough when reviewing work and personable when explaining issues to her clients. “It might take more time to review the work sometimes, but I want to make sure it’s right. Our clients look to us for direction and I don’t want to cut corners,” she says. Recent examples of how Lindsay helps her clients include:
- Discovering a major discrepancy with a client’s financial records. A client who could not figure out why there was a six-figure difference with their financial adjustments contacted Lindsay. She was able to determine the issue and the cause of the more than $100,000 difference, saving her client hours of research time.
- Reviewing accounts for a client who suspected fraudulent activity. While researching the issue, Lindsay identified issues with coding and documentation that her client would not have otherwise discovered. She recommended certain procedures be put in place and the client now has a greater comfort level with reporting and documentation.
Lindsay likes getting to know the people she works with and welcomes the challenge of resolving her client’s problems. “I look at historical data - analyzing trends and making comparisons to get a full picture. If it doesn’t make sense at first, I’ll keep digging until I get the answer,” she says.
Lindsay lives in Delaware. Outside of work, she enjoys art, cooking, going to concerts, and discovering new music.
